The Standard of Low-Friction, High-Precision Linear Motion

Ball screws convert rotary motion into linear motion through the rolling contact of balls, enabling low friction loss and controllable backlash. This allows for high positioning accuracy and repeatability in precision linear motion systems.

Due to these characteristics, ball screws are widely used as key components for precision linear motion in semiconductor, display, robotics, and automation equipment requiring micrometer-level control.

Why Miniature Ball Screw

Ball Recirculation Structure Designed for Compact Systems

DINGS’ miniature ball screws utilize an internal circulation system and deflector-type ball recirculation structure to minimize nut outer diameter while maintaining stable ball circulation. This design ensures high-precision linear motion and repeatability without increased friction or reduced accuracy, even in compact installation environments.

DINGS’ Expands Precision Miniature Ball Screw Product Line

Demand for ultra-compact, high-precision linear motion components is rapidly increasing across industries such as semiconductors, displays, robotics, and automotive manufacturing. As equipment continues to shrink and requirements for high-precision control intensify, the market—traditionally dominated by large ball screws—has begun to shift toward smaller, more precise solutions.

In response to this trend, Jiangsu DINGS’ announced the expansion of its product lineup with the standalone supply of precision miniature ball screws with 14 mm and below.

Until now, Jiangsu DINGS’ has primarily supplied ball screw–integrated stepper motor linear actuators. These products have been widely adopted in semiconductor, display, and precision automation equipment, where their performance and reliability have been validated through real-world applications.

The decision to offer miniature ball screws as standalone components represents a strategic move beyond integrated-only solutions, significantly expanding design flexibility and application scope for customers.

As the market for large ball screws used in machine tools and machining centers reaches saturation, Jiangsu DINGS’ has identified miniature precision applications—including semiconductor and display equipment, robotic linear actuators, and robotic hand assemblies—as key target markets. The expanded lineup now covers ultra-miniature ball screws starting from 4 mm, small-form-factor models, and custom solutions based on planetary roller mechanisms, offering a broad range of options for diverse application needs.

From a technical perspective, depending on the model, Jiangsu DINGS’ applies internal circulation systems and deflector-type return structures to achieve compact nut outer diameters while maintaining stable ball recirculation. The product range supports C10, C7, C5, and C3 precision grades, with both rolled and ground versions available. Preload (Z-type) options are also supported to minimize backlash, enabling high-precision positioning and excellent repeatability.

Unlike the existing miniature ball screw market, which has been largely dominated by overseas brands, Jiangsu DINGS’ has leveraged the engineering expertise accumulated through its integrated motor and module development to establish a foundation for supplying high-precision miniature ball screws with short lead times and competitive pricing. In addition, a China-based inventory system is being established to further strengthen supply stability.

A representative from Jiangsu DINGS’ commented, “This expansion of standalone miniature ball screw offerings goes beyond simply adding product variety. It is a strategic step to strengthen our position in the ultra-compact, high-precision linear motion market.”
